Adults will have 3 classes to choose from:

·    The Holy Club class, which meets upstairs in the Education Unit and is led by Rev. Beck, will be using “Confronting the Controversies,” a study by Adam Hamilton.  This is a 7-week study that uses a participant’s book and DVD to explore seven topics of controversy for Christians today.  The topics are: The Separation of Church and State; Creation and Evolution in the Public Schools; The Death Penalty; Euthanasia; Prayer in Public Schools, Abortion; and Homosexuality.

·    Ephesians:  “Being a Christian is like buying a car,” led by Bob Kruisenga. A catchy title perhaps, but the scriptural truth is that our salvation in Jesus Christ is a package deal. Included in our salvation are many extras that you and I may not even be aware of, but have been paid in full. Like the technology of today, so too in our salvation we often learn to use only the basic options simply because we don’t read the instruction manual. With our salvation comes a whole list of extras that are included in the bottom line.  The book of Ephesians is God’s word of explanation to us as his children on getting the most out of living in God’s family. Some of the topics included in this Bible study class will be prayer, faith, grace and being in God’s family and how we can understand more about the role each of us has as a Christian. The class study guide will take us step-by-step through the book of Ephesians and together we will learn and appreciate more about being in God’s family. In addition, this class will take on the topics of heaven and hell and what the Bible teaches about these eternal realities. DVD’s, discussion and decision will be a part of our study. Whether you attend every Sunday or come as you can, each lesson is designed to teach a principle or truth from the Bible that you can take with you and use in your daily walk in faith.

·    “Guardrails” will be led by Leona Rayner and Jeff Rasche.  (Guardrails:  a system designed to keep vehicles from straying into dangerous or off-limit areas.) They’re everywhere, but they don’t really get much attention . . . until somebody hits one. And then, more often than not, it is a lifesaver. Ever wonder what it would be like to have guardrails in other areas of your life---areas where culture baits you to the edge of disaster and then chastises you when you step across the line? Your friendships. Your finances. Your marriage. Maybe your greatest regret could have been avoided if you had established guardrails. In this six-session video based study, Andy Stanley challenges us to stop flirting with disaster and establish some personal guardrails. Topics include Direct and Protect, Why Can’t We Be Friends, Flee Baby Flee!, Me and the Mrs., The Consumption Assumption, and Once and For All.

You can keep current on Bible studies and other classes held throughout the year by reading the monthly newsletter linked in the sidebar.
